Lupus Fatigue: Causes, Treatments and Management

In this virtual, educational symposium explores lupus fatigue, one of the most common and disabling symptoms that affect those living with lupus!  This symposium features presentations by experts in the field who provide their thoughts, advice and practical tools that can really help those living with this condition.

 

Presenters include:

Sharon Dowell, MD, PhD – Rheumatologist, Howard University Hospital

Dr. Dowell discusses the medical perspectives of lupus fatigue, including factors that contribute to the condition and how diet, exercise and sleep play a role.  Dr. Dowell also describes how fatigue influences mood and may contribute to depression and anxiety.

Lindsay Springer, DPT, MS, CPT – Licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy

Dr. Springer is a licensed physical therapist in practice in Portland, Oregon, and is living with lupus. Dr. Springer describes how physical therapists approach relieving pain and inflammation in order to address lupus fatigue. She is also the Master of Ceremony for this symposium.
