Lupus nephritis is estimated to affect about 50% of those living with lupus. It is one of the most serious conditions associated with SLE and can cause kidney failure or even death.

In this video, “Lupus Nephritis: The Importance of Early Diagnosis,” Dr. Donald Thomas shares over 25 years of clinical experience with lupus nephritis – bringing a wealth of practical tips and information that anyone living with lupus can use. He highlights the rheumatologist’s approach to diagnosing lupus nephritis and the latest advice on successfully managing the disease and possibly attaining remission!

Dr. Thomas is a licensed rheumatologist at Arthritis and Pain Associates of Prince George’s County, Greenbelt, Maryland, an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Uniformed Services University, Bethesda, Maryland, and the author of The Lupus Encyclopedia: A Comprehensive Guide for Patients and Families.
