Teens and Young Adults with Lupus: Transitioning to Adult Care
Moving from pediatric to adult rheumatology care is a critical time for many living with childhood-onset lupus. Many get lost in the transition or even stop treatments altogether – putting their health at serious risk!
In this video, Dr. Megan Lockwood, highlights some of the challenges of this transition and how to make the move as successful as possible. Dr. Lockwood is an excellent guide – describing the many (some surprising) differences between pediatric and adult rheumatology practices, as well as providing numerous pro tips on how to prepare for the transition.
